Bartons Mill is a unique late 17th-century mill formerly known as Old Basing Mill set in the beautiful surroundings of the Hampshire countryside. Just a short distance from Basingstoke town centre, Old Basing is a charming village steeped in history. Situated on the River Loddon, Bartons Mill is home to unique wildlife and a tranquil riverside setting.
For intimate occasions to large celebrations
Our historic mill was the last one working in 1965 and remained a private residence until 1979 when it opened its doors as a restaurant. Renovated to seamlessly merge the Bartons Mill restaurant and The Millstone Pub to create Bartons Mill, this site lovingly retains the characteristic features of its historical past.
Perfect for your big day
Bartons Mill offers seasonally changing menus, showcasing the best variety we can offer. Our 3 or 4-course sit-down wedding breakfast can seat up to 65 guests inside or 130 outside, or you may prefer to serve your guests an evening hog roast, BBQ or buffet, in which case we can cater for anything up to 160.
We have 12 elegant en-suite bedrooms that we can offer to you and your guests, including our Bridal Suite perfect to get ready before your big day.

We are able to offer you not only a memorable location but a versatile venue to suit the vision of your perfect day. Exclusively yours for the day, we have a range of rooms that accommodate between 8 to 160 guests for the ceremony and/or wedding reception.

As part of your booking, we include our fantastic on-site wedding manager Flo Fontela, who with years of experience, will be on hand to help you every step of the way to plan the wedding of your dreams.
